
S. Duke Han, Ph.D. (Director of HALON)

Dr. S. Duke Han is the director and founder of HALON. He completed his bachelors of science in psychology/neuroscience at Duke University, and his clinical psychology doctorate at the University of Massachusetts Boston. While in Boston, he was trained in clinical neuropsychology and functional neuroimaging techniques through his work with the Harvard Medical School-affiliated Brigham Behavioral Neurology Group (BBNG) and Schizophrenia Research Project (SRP) respectively. Dr. Han continued his clinical neuropsychology and neuroimaging training at UCSD, completing an internship and an NIH-funded postdoctoral fellowship. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology in the College of Arts and Sciences, a Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurology at Loyola University Medical Center, and a Research Associate of the Neuroscience Institute at Loyola University Medical Center. Dr. Han's current research interests are the effects of apolipoprotein E genotype on cognition and the development or decline of executive functioning across the lifespan. His hobbies include writing, recording, or performing music, and spending time with his wife, Erin, and son, Jadon.

Erica Luboyeski

Erica is a fourth year graduate student in the Clinical PhD program. She completed her BA at the University of Connecticut and worked as a research treatment provider at Brown University in Providence, RI before moving to Chicago for graduate school. She completed her master's thesis in 2007, which employed a developmental approach to investigate the influence of environmental factors on executive functioning. She is currently extending executive functioning research through her dissertation and is involved in several other research projects with the HALON group. Erica loves working and studying in Chicago, and in her down time enjoys playing beach volleyball on the Chicago lakefront. She is an avid animal lover and has a dog, Sammy, a cat, Willow, and a horse, Andrew. |
Kevin Nuechterlein

Kevin is a Sophomore at Loyola University Chicago and is majoring in Psychology with a minor in Neuroscience. He is also active with the Companions program for first year ministry at Loyola and tutors high school students. Kevin is excited for this year and all the challenges and opportunities it will bring. |
Hideo Suzuki

Hideo Suzuki was born and grew up in Sapporo, Japan. With a unique academic background in psychology and sociology, he was admitted to Applied Social Psychology Ph.D. program at Loyola University Chicago. He received a master's degree in applied social psychology in December of 2005 and is currently engaged in dissertation research on behavioral and neurochemical effects of chronically passive exposure to aggression. In the meantime, he became involved in HALON and is assisting Dr. Han with statistically analyzing neuro-psychological and psychosocial determinants of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) by using a multivariate hierarchical classification tree analysis (called Optimal Data Analysis or ODA). He is also being trained in other two social psychology laboratories and the other neurobiology laboratory at the Department of Biology. His primary intesrets are social neuroscience and aggression. |
Elizabeth Tuminello

Liz is a senior at Loyola University Chicago and will be a first year student in Loyola's clinical psychology program this fall. Her research interests lie in the area of geriatric neuropsychology. She loves spending time outdoors and taking her dog, Louie, on hikes. |
Jana Wingo

Jana is a first year graduate student in the Clinical PhD program. She completed her BA at the University of Notre Dame and is originally from the suburbs of Chicago. Her interests pertain to neuropsychology with an overlap in social justice. She loves to travel and recently spent three weeks traveling around Europe. |
