Alumni 07
Mr.
Hanek is a senior at Loyola who will be completing his Bachelor of
Business Administration with a double major in Finance and Economics in
May of 2007.
For the past two summers he
has worked and received an internship with Iowa Grain Company at
the CBOT. He worked as a clerk/runner for Iowa Grain Company in
the agriculture pits at the CME, then would intern in the MIS/IT
department at the CBOT once trading closed. This led to a
full-time position as a night operations manager watching over
the company’s electronic trading platforms and finalizing
reports of the day’s trades.
His goals after graduation
include working for a hedge fund or an investment firm as a
trader. However, after his recent corporate finance
classes he has taken from Professors Schwartz and Todd, he has
begun to turn to the investment banking side of finance. He is
currently on the fence on which path to take, either trading or
corporate finance. By joining the IB&FMC, he hopes to increase
his financial acumen from the supplemental experiences in
finance that the club offers and help diversify his financial
background. This will result in sound future experiences
when he pursues his next internship or simply his next
discussion in class with his peers about finance or business.
