Ms. Gonzalez attended
the club sponsored Finance Symposium on November 3, 2006 which
was certainly a valuable experience in terms of the importance
of excelling her financial and networking capabilities.
Prior work experience and academic training have shaped her
plans and will enhance her experiences with the club.
During her internship at UBS Financial Services of Puerto Rico
in the summer of 2005, she successfully researched and analyzed
current needs of clients, gathered statistical and economic
information relative to markets and investments, attended
company presentations, helped designed portfolios and identified
asset allocation mixes, participated in portfolio managers’
evaluation and selection, and reported on performance of
client’s portfolios. In addition to her work experience,
Loyola University New Orleans and Fairfield University have
academically prepared her with the necessary tools to become a
successful business person.
Wealth management is the area of finance that interests her the
most because it is a concept that goes beyond traditional
investment ideals and focuses on helping clients accumulate,
preserve, and transfer wealth while taking into account their
asset and liability needs. "A personal asset allocation
strategy is the foundation of a wealth management program and
through the consultative process, the financial advisor can gain
an understanding of goals and tolerance for risk, recommend
customized strategies and solutions, work closely with clients
to implement the recommendations, and periodically adjust said
strategies." The experiences at UBS have made her realize
that analysis is her greatest interest.
