After your dataset has been correctly constructed, be sure to "define each variable" so that it is a numeric variable with "0" decimal places.  The variable "Gender" should have two labels:  1 = "Male" and 2 = "Female".

After the dataset has been constructed, please use Descriptive statistics for Age and Frequencies for Gender.  Bring a printout to class next session showing these results.
