Required:

• Statistics for the Behavioral Sciences, Third Edition by Thorne and Giesen
• Inexpensive hand calculator. You might want to find one that does have some statistics functions. Limit your cost to about $20 dollars or less.
• At least 2 Diskettes - Make sure the disk is HD 3.5" for IBM compatible

Optional and recommended

• SPSS 9.0 for Windows
• Study Guide to Accompany Statistics for Behavioral Sciences

Course:

• CIEP 404 Statistics for the Behavioral Sciences
• Three Semester Hour
• Fifteen sessions
• 6:00 pm until approximately 9:00 pm each Monday evening
• Room Mall 212 [Computer lab]

The general organization of the class will consist of the following routine.

• 6:00 pm Chapter Test ** - be sure to print results [keep copy for your self]
• 6:25 pm Give Disk to Dr. Hoover with printed results plus assignment(s)
• 6:35 pm Direct instruction - content of chapters
• 7:15 pm Break
• 7:30 pm Direct instruction - content of chapters
• 8:00 pm Lab work
• 8:45 pm Work completed

** Generally, I will be in the lab early so you may want to start the test at 5:50 pm which gives you an additional ten minutes. If you are late, this may reduce your test taking time....
