"You know a dream is like a river
Ever changin' as it flows
And a dreamer's just a vessel
That must follow where it goes
Trying to learn from what's behind you
And never knowing what's in store
Makes each day a constant battle
Just to stay between the shores . . .and
I will sail my vessel
'til the river runs dry
Like the bird upon the wind
These waters are my sky.
I'll never reach my destination
If I never try
So I will sail my vessel
'Til the river runs dry."
from the song "The River" (Victoria Shaw, Garth Brooks)
Why rivers? A river is a body of water. And water being one of the four elements of life (AIR, EARTH, FIRE, WATER) is all around us. It sustains us. It has a power to build, to change, to erase. Water flows through the world around us; it exists within each of us. Water connects us to the world and each otherLike water, music is a basic element of life. It connects us to each other. It inspires and sustains. It exists within each of us.
For each of us possess a distinct tune and we each hear a drum in the distance marking our own cadence...and in a way we each heed the call
Why rivers...why not rivers?
Put a quarter in the
Rivers Jukebox...
