Biography and Genealogical Information

Here's a short biography just so you know if you've stumbled across the right Walt Slazyk.

This is the Walt Slazyk who grew up on the Southwest side of Chicago near Midway airport, attended St. Ignatius H.S. and then went on to Oregon State University. There I made a FEW good friends.

After Uncle Sam was done with me, I bummed around Chicago for a while doing odd jobs; hardware store clerk, semi-professional motorcycle mechanic, until Sandy and I decided to get married. That's when I decided it was time to get a real job and I found one working with computers at Midwest Stock Exchange.

From there I made my way to Loyola University and have been there ever since. Here at Loyola I've generally been involved in CICS, VTAM and IBM mainframe communications software. Now I'm working a lot with Linux and Application Servers while still keeping my piece of our creaky old mainframe systems humming along.

If you're looking for genealogical information, please E-mail me. Although I have little interest in that sort of thing, I am happy to provide this information to someone working on a family tree. Since this kind of information can be used against a person, I prefer not to publish it on the Web.
